Provision of fuel subsidies

We believed that… provision of fuel subsidies will boost the availability of water for the communities facing water scarcity in the IDPs camp.<br>

We observed that…the fuel provided has improved the availability of water in the camps, however, it was not enough to meet the needs of the communities because of the quantity (a hybrid water system needs at least 300 liters per month).<br>

From that we learned that…supporting communities with fuel subsidies is one way to relieve the community during the demand for water. This initiative only cannot bring enough impact on the availability of water and enhancing solarization of water sources (shallow wells) will address the perennial water shortage in the region.<br>

Therefore, we will…. recommend the provision of fuel subsidies be increased and the agriculture sector be included because most of the farmers use fuel generators to water their agricultural production to fasten high yield and thus improve food insecurity. We also recommend enhanced solarization for the shallow wells to increase the water supply in the region.
